Chris Stippling Pine
A digital stippling of Chris Pine done through the use of Adobe Photoshop.
Although this was for a portfolio class, this concept was swirling around in my head years before. I believe I originally thought of this back in 2015 or 2016 in high school. The idea was of a stippling close-up of Chris Pine as Captain Kirk from the Star Trek reboot with space as the background and I attempted to do this with pencil and paper, but the result was malformed and smudged, so I dropped it for a while. Then, when I had to come up with an idea for a portfolio piece for this class, I figured I would try to the idea again, but do it digitally. I also wanted add the U.S.S. Enterprise, the main starship in Star Trek, in the background, but with limited time, I decided to put all of my focus on Pine's face because the human eye can tell when something about a person's face doesn't look right. All of this was manual stippling, except for his hair, which I hurriedly made a brush for.
